OUR VALUES AND GOALS

We,  at  all  times, and in every way,  seek the protection,  wisdom,  and leadership of Almighty God,
submitting to Him in order to better do His will.  We  further  continue  to  follow  the  example of
Jesus to love as He loved.  Knowing that
“And now these three remain:  faith, hope, and love.  But the
greatest of these is love.”
 – 1 Cor. 13:13 (NIV)

By picking up our cross daily and following Him, we lead by example and will teach:

   •
Faith
   •        Obedience
   •        Repentance
   •        Choice
   •        Everyday and Everything

We do this, in the hopes that souls may be saved andlives  changed,  so that we may be able to say:
“We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have
heard of your faith  in  Christ  Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints – the faith and love
that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about
in the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you.
 –Col. 1:3-6 (NIV)

As Disciples of Christ,  we  further  continue  to follow the example set by Jesus, and the disciples
after Him, by setting the standards for moral and ethical behavior through upholding the values He
established for the first believers, which consisted of these basic principles –

                                           ~
FAITH
                                           ~     HOPE
                                           ~     LOVE

However,  as Christians our lives must reflect -  Spirituality:  The bedrock of all faiths,  providing
meaning  and  direction  in  life.
Accountability:  The  means  to  measure how we practice what we
preach.
Compassion:  The  love  that  sees  beyond  the  surface and discerns our common humanity.
Religious Leadership:  Interprets  the  roles  of  leadership  prophetically,  all  under  Christ as the
head.
Excellence:  The  standard  for  staff  work and religious responsibilities.  Diversity:  Being
respectful of different views and ideas that are not like our own.

Our  ultimate objective though,  is to have Chaplains  and  Disciples of Christ  in  all communities of
every  nation,  trained  to  fulfill  the mission of Christ  and uphold the values  of the  International
Disciples of Christ;  in order to  reach lost souls,  help alleviate human suffering,  and  prepare  the
way for His second coming.
